Between Hansotia's masterful blending and the attractive, embossed and vibrantly-colored label--typical of anything bearing his name--it's a memorable revival indeed. We found the blend medium-bodied with bold, heady flavors that run from sweet clove-like notes to leathery earthiness, and it tends to grow in strength as it burns. | |

This Maduro beauty has not one but two dark, toothy San Andres Maduro wrappers: one is the wrapper, the other, the binder. They're both extra fermented naturally, meaning without sweating or other artificial means. Beneath these two expertly fermented leaves is a combination of Cuban-seed Nicaraguan long-fillers and rich tobaccos from Panama. The Excalibur is made using the top 10% of the factory's tobacco from Honduras and Nicaragua. Note the beautiful Connecticut Shade wrapper which gives the cigar a robust but unusually smooth taste. The blend is Nicaraguan, Honduran, and Cuban-seed Dominican fillers, while the binder is Connecticut. This full-flavored brand has been dubbed the "espresso of cigars" because of its famously rich, strong, and creamy smoke. | |
