The award winning show, Sons of Anarchy, now has its own line of cigars thanks to the partnership between Twentieth Century Fox's Consumer Products division and Meier & Dutch cigar distributors. If you’re unfamiliar with the show, it’s about a gun-running close-knit motorcycle club operating out of the fictitious town of Charming, California. One of the stars of the show is real-life cigar enthusiast Ron Perlman, who portrays the club's ominous and irritable former president, Clarence “Clay” Morrow, and since the start of the show back in 2008, Perlman can be seen smoking a cigar in almost every episode. Unlike the first Sons of Anarchy cigar that was inspired by the series as a whole, the Clubhouse Edition was created to coincide with the show’s final season.

The Sons of Anarchy Clubhouse Edition by Black Crown in your shipment today was meticulously handcrafted under the watchful eye of the legendary A.J. Fernandez at his own factory in Nicaragua. Full-bodied, this powerhouse starts with a zesty blend of Nicaraguan long-filler hugged tightly with a Nicaraguan binder and a potent Nicaraguan Habano Sun Grown wrapper. Once lit, nuances of pepper, spices, earth, and dark tobacco emerge, and a long cool finish rounds out each powerful puff. Our panel recommend trying this powerhouse with an espresso.

The Nicaraguan cigar industry originated when Cuban cigar makers escaped the revolution and re-established their livelihood in Nicaragua with Cuban-seed tobacco. Blessed with dark, rich soil, their new home was ideal for tobacco cultivation and Nicaragua quickly became known for cigars that rivaled Cuban quality. Unfortunately, revolution and war came to Nicaragua in the 1980s and devastated the industry, but it’s rebounded dramatically and is once again producing tobacco considered by many to be the finest in the world.

The Esteli Valley is in many ways the heart of Nicaraguan production and is known for its very powerful and spicy tobacco. The Jalapa Valley produces arguably the finest tobacco in the country: somewhat sweeter and less intense than Esteli, but extremely complex. The tobacco of the Condega Valley is often described as a blend of the other two regions.
