Ramon Bueso has been in the cigar game for over 40 years, and it shows. From tobacco farming to blending alongside industry legends, the guy knows his craft—and the Genesis Oscuro is a shining example. This Toro is wrapped in a dark, oily Connecticut Broadleaf Oscuro leaf, with a Honduran binder and a rich blend of Honduran, Dominican, and Nicaraguan fillers. Medium-to-full-bodied, it’s bold without being overwhelming. Flavor-wise, you’re in for a treat: espresso, earth, dark chocolate, and caramel all come through, with a peppery finish and a subtle oaky aroma. It’s complex, smooth, and seriously satisfying—no surprise it scored a 94. Pair it with a Manhattan for a next-level experience. The cocktail’s whiskey base and slight sweetness highlight the cigar’s rich, dessert-like notes while balancing the spice. If you’re craving something dark, flavorful, and refined, this cigar delivers in a big way.

Honduras has been a tobacco growing and cigar manufacturing area for hundreds of years, but it was the Communist revolution in Cuba that really put Honduras on the map. In the 1960s, many Cuban cigar makers fled their homeland and arrived in Honduras to re-establish their way of life. The immigrants took advantage of the climate, soil, and geography, which were well-suited to tobacco growing, and began producing high quality cigars. The center of the Honduran cigar industry is the city of Danli and the nearby Jamastran Valley. The majority of the world’s pure Corojo tobacco is grown here, now that Cuba has stopped production of this iconic, spicy, and rich variety in favor of Corojo hybrids. Other important areas of Honduran cigar production include the Talanga Valley, Copan, and Trojes.
