Folks, we’re not going to hold back here—we’re downright excited to be sending you this world-renowned cigar. Pueblo Dominicano is a special stogie that was crafted by some of the most creative minds and experienced hands in the business. It comes to us from the oldest factory in all of the Dominican Republic, the La Aurora factory, and to sum it up, it’s smooth, soothing, flavorful and worthy of a permanent place in your humidor. The tobaccos used in building this masterpiece are nothing short of exquisite on their own, but to top it off, the six country blend (yep, you read that right – six countries) has been aged for a mind-blowing five years plus. We found the dark, reddish Ecuadorian Sun-Grown leaf, with its perfect push, oily texture and dappled appearance, so entrancing we hesitated lighting it. We got over it, aided in part by the enticing pre-light aroma which, if you haven’t already experienced it, warrants a good sniff right now. Do it! Upon first sparking this cigar, expect a burst of smooth, peppery tastes that rouse the taste buds and leave you craving that next ultra smooth draw. Shortly after, the flavors imparted by the gorgeous wrapper take over, delivering a gently sweet creaminess that covers the palate. But wait a second—it doesn’t end there! Pueblo Dominicano has a robust and rich finish that leaves a stunningly aromatic cedary aftertaste. The Pueblo Dominicano is a full-bodied smoke but it’s so smooth you might not even notice. We think you’ll find it superbly satisfying and simply wonderful with an aged dark rum such as Cruzan or El Dorado.
The Nicaraguan cigar industry originated when Cuban cigar makers escaped the revolution and re-established their livelihood in Nicaragua with Cuban-seed tobacco. Blessed with dark, rich soil, their new home was ideal for tobacco cultivation and Nicaragua quickly became known for cigars that rivaled Cuban quality. Unfortunately, revolution and war came to Nicaragua in the 1980s and devastated the industry, but it’s rebounded dramatically and is once again producing tobacco considered by many to be the finest in the world. The Esteli Valley is in many ways the heart of Nicaraguan production and is known for its very powerful and spicy tobacco. The Jalapa Valley produces arguably the finest tobacco in the country: somewhat sweeter and less intense than Esteli, but extremely complex. The tobacco of the Condega Valley is often described as a blend of the other two regions.
