The Oliva Serie G has long been one of Oliva's signature blends, showcasing the company's talent for pairing premium Nicaraguan tobaccos with the distinctive character of an authentic African Cameroon wrapper. Produced by one of Nicaragua's most respected cigar-making families, the Serie G has earned widespread acclaim, including an impressive 93-point rating from Cigar Aficionado, thanks to its balance, consistency, and approachable complexity. The Belicoso features a Cameroon wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and long-fillers grown in Oliva's renowned tobacco fields. The result is a medium-bodied smoke layered with cedar, roasted coffee, earth, toasted nuts, and subtle baking spices. The naturally sweet Cameroon wrapper contributes hints of cocoa and cinnamon while the tapered Belicoso shape concentrates the flavors for a rich, refined finish. A glass of River Rock Syrah 2019 is an excellent pairing. The wine's dark berry fruit, pepper, and soft tannins complement the cigar's earthy spice and cocoa notes, creating a balanced pairing that's equally enjoyable on the patio or after dinner.

The Nicaraguan cigar industry originated when Cuban cigar makers escaped the revolution and re-established their livelihood in Nicaragua with Cuban-seed tobacco. Blessed with dark, rich soil, their new home was ideal for tobacco cultivation and Nicaragua quickly became known for cigars that rivaled Cuban quality. Unfortunately, revolution and war came to Nicaragua in the 1980s and devastated the industry, but it’s rebounded dramatically and is once again producing tobacco considered by many to be the finest in the world.

The Esteli Valley is in many ways the heart of Nicaraguan production and is known for its very powerful and spicy tobacco. The Jalapa Valley produces arguably the finest tobacco in the country: somewhat sweeter and less intense than Esteli, but extremely complex. The tobacco of the Condega Valley is often described as a blend of the other two regions.
