Latitude Zero Signature Robusto represents a refined boutique expression from one of the world’s most respected tobacco-growing families. Wrapped in a striking Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf, this robusto features a Nicaraguan Habano binder and a carefully selected filler blend that includes Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Connecticut Broadleaf tobaccos. Medium-to-full in body, the Signature Robusto delivers a layered and evolving smoking experience. Initial notes of pepper and leather quickly give way to creamier textures, warm spice, and subtle sweetness as the cigar progresses. The balance between strength and finesse is impressive, rewarding slow, attentive smoking. Construction is consistently reliable, with a firm ash and steady burn that allows the blend’s complexity to unfold naturally. This cigar appeals to experienced smokers who appreciate depth without excess aggression. Its structured profile pairs beautifully with a classic Cabernet Sauvignon, whose dark fruit and tannins complement the cigar’s spice, leather, and creamy undertones.

The Nicaraguan cigar industry originated when Cuban cigar makers escaped the revolution and re-established their livelihood in Nicaragua with Cuban-seed tobacco. Blessed with dark, rich soil, their new home was ideal for tobacco cultivation and Nicaragua quickly became known for cigars that rivaled Cuban quality. Unfortunately, revolution and war came to Nicaragua in the 1980s and devastated the industry, but it’s rebounded dramatically and is once again producing tobacco considered by many to be the finest in the world.

The Esteli Valley is in many ways the heart of Nicaraguan production and is known for its very powerful and spicy tobacco. The Jalapa Valley produces arguably the finest tobacco in the country: somewhat sweeter and less intense than Esteli, but extremely complex. The tobacco of the Condega Valley is often described as a blend of the other two regions.
