Diesel Uncut Robusto is a bold, full-bodied cigar crafted at Tabacalera Fernandez under the guidance of A.J. Fernandez. Built with Nicaraguan long-fillers and binder and finished in a rugged Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper, this cigar delivers power, depth, and unmistakable character. The signature shaggy foot enhances the initial draw, releasing a rich burst of aroma before settling into a steady, flavorful burn. From start to finish, Diesel Uncut showcases notes of dark chocolate, cedar, roasted nuts, and assertive black pepper, with intensity building gradually rather than overwhelming the palate. Despite its strength, the blend remains balanced, supported by excellent construction and consistent combustion. This is a cigar designed for seasoned smokers who appreciate bold flavor and structure. The finish is long, warm, and satisfying. Best enjoyed slowly with an Imperial Stout, whose roasted malt and bitterness complement the cigar’s dark, powerful profile.
The Nicaraguan cigar industry originated when Cuban cigar makers escaped the revolution and re-established their livelihood in Nicaragua with Cuban-seed tobacco. Blessed with dark, rich soil, their new home was ideal for tobacco cultivation and Nicaragua quickly became known for cigars that rivaled Cuban quality. Unfortunately, revolution and war came to Nicaragua in the 1980s and devastated the industry, but it’s rebounded dramatically and is once again producing tobacco considered by many to be the finest in the world.
The Esteli Valley is in many ways the heart of Nicaraguan production and is known for its very powerful and spicy tobacco. The Jalapa Valley produces arguably the finest tobacco in the country: somewhat sweeter and less intense than Esteli, but extremely complex. The tobacco of the Condega Valley is often described as a blend of the other two regions.
