For over 20 years now, Perdomo has been known for their true and pure Nicaraguan cigars and have set the standards for Nicaraguan handmades as well as high-end super premiums. Each Perdomo cigar goes through strict quality control and uses top notch Nicaraguan tobacco; the results are always full-flavored and second to none. Created to commemorate Perdomo’s 20th Anniversary, this Nicaraguan puro is definitely one for the books. Each handmade starts with a one of a kind Cuban-seed Nicaraguan Broadleaf maduro wrapper from the highest priming, which is extra-fermented, cedar-aged, then barrel-aged in old bourbon barrels for 14+ months. It secures a Nicaraguan binder and a carefully aged blend of Cuban-seed long-fillers that are top-priming tobaccos from Esteli, Jalapa, and Condega. The last step for this puro is a gentle box-press. Full-bodied, this handmade will build in strength as rich, toasty notes of cocoa, coffee, and leather coat the palate along with subtle hints of sweet pepper and earth. Incredibly elegant, enjoy this smoke with your favorite bourbon after dinner on the patio.

The Nicaraguan cigar industry originated when Cuban cigar makers escaped the revolution and re-established their livelihood in Nicaragua with Cuban-seed tobacco. Blessed with dark, rich soil, their new home was ideal for tobacco cultivation and Nicaragua quickly became known for cigars that rivaled Cuban quality. Unfortunately, revolution and war came to Nicaragua in the 1980s and devastated the industry, but it’s rebounded dramatically and is once again producing tobacco considered by many to be the finest in the world.

The Esteli Valley is in many ways the heart of Nicaraguan production and is known for its very powerful and spicy tobacco. The Jalapa Valley produces arguably the finest tobacco in the country: somewhat sweeter and less intense than Esteli, but extremely complex. The tobacco of the Condega Valley is often described as a blend of the other two regions.
