Saddam's Garage Ain't the only Thing Smokin' in Iraq!

Well, this has got to go down as one of the All-Time Best Member of the Month photos we've ever received! We love that you took the time to snap the shot and share it with us Tracy. Nice work lads!

Attached is a picture of myself and my fellow soldiers smoking cigars in front of a garage that was owned by Saddam Hussein. Of course he owns many of garages, but this is what we call home.

Featured Cigars

Bohemian Red Corojo Ginsburg Toro

The Bohemian Red Corojo Toro is manufactured by Victor Sinclair Cigars and hand rolled in the Dominican Republic. The most interesting feature of this cigar is its bright-red Corojo wrapper. You should know that it was not dyed to achieve this color and what you're looking at is in fact the natural color of the wrapper. Note an aesthetically beautiful cigar, constructed of delicious long filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic. We found it a medium-to-full-bodied smoke, providing heaps of rich tobacco flavor. Look for an easy draw with a spicy, pleasing aroma. Its flavor offers some spiciness which is complemented by a wonderful cedar flavor. Consider pairing it with your favorite single malt scotch.

Fighting Cock Toro

The Fighting Cock brand is named after the Philippine national sport of cock-fighting. In fact, for years, this brand was a popular Philippine-made cigar, but it is now made by Felipe Gregorio in Nicaragua. Felipe uses a combination of Nicaraguan and Dominican long fillers wrapped inside of an oily Habano-seed wrapper. This blend offers an interesting, earthy flavor with hints of coffee bean, spice, and cedar notes. Look for a firm, yet even and effortless draw. We'd pair this medium-to-ful-bodied cigar with either Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout or Ron Anejo's Pampero Anivesario Rum.

Gran Habano Torpedo

The Grand Habano is a mild-to-medium-bodied cigar handmade in the Dominican Republic. This Torpedo has a smooth Connecticut-shade Dominican wrapper and all Dominican long fillers. Note an aesthetically appealing cigar with a very easy draw. A fine long white ash indicates the tobacco to be aged properly. Look for a rich and creamy flavor with a hint of spices and a pleasantly mild finish. A perfect match for your favorite cognac or Barleywine-style ale.

Vintage Aged 10 yr. Robusto

The Vintage Aged 10yr Maduro Robusto was released by Indian Tabac. This cigar has been aged for 10 years! Indian Tabac is known for their characteristically strong, full-bodied smokes, but due to the extensive aging of this cigar, it's a a relatively mellow cigar. This handmade smoke is rolled with a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan Ligero fillers along with a very dark, maduro Ecuadorian Sumatran wrapper. Look for a medium body with a creamy, nutty flavor. We also picked up some cedar-woodiness. This is a very complex and truly enjoyable cigar. Consider pairing it with a single malt scotch or an XO cognac.

Sherpa Diablo Torpedo

Although this Sherpa is not from Tibet, it does come from an incredible mix of talent. Carlos Toraño took his cigar making talents to the folks at Gurkha Cigars to spawn the Sherpa line of cigars. Inside the dark, oily, Sumatran wrapper is a blend of long-leaf Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. The Sherpa Torpedo is a full-bodied cigar that offers a complex peppery flavor up front, but later mellows nicely into a medium-bodied smoke with some distinct creaminess. We found it densely packed and offering a slow and even burn. Try it with a chocolate stout or your favorite cup of coffee.
