100 years and 153,000 cigars later -- Happy Birthday, Jack!
Mr. Jack Priestly of Great Britain smokes 10 cigars a day. He is also 100 years old. He started smoking cigarettes at age nine, then later pipes, but in 1966 on his doctor's advice he switched to cigars. In addition to the 10 cigars he has smoked every day since then, at age 24 he began drinking a shot of whiskey in his tea every morning. And still does, even as he turned 100 this July.
Mr. Priestly claims his mind is still that of a young man, and that he feels only 50. What's his secret? In Jack's words:
'Life is too short to be worried about little things, you should enjoy what you like in moderation and make the best of it.'
Some may argue that 10 cigars a day is not moderation, but clearly in Jack's case it is. And the only person who can argue with the advice of a happy, 100-year-old cigar smoker is a happy, 100-year-old non-cigar smoker.
